Grievance Procedure
Buckeye Recovery Housing is committed to addressing resident concerns fairly and promptly. This procedure outlines how to raise concerns, file grievances, and access external reporting options.
Step-by-Step Process
Follow these steps to address your concerns. You may start at any step if circumstances warrant.
Speak to the Individual Involved
If comfortable, attempt to resolve the issue directly with the person involved. Many concerns can be addressed through respectful, direct communication.
This step is optional. If you do not feel comfortable, you may proceed to Step 2.
Speak to Staff
Bring your concern to a staff member on duty. Staff will listen to your concern, document it, and work with you toward resolution.
Staff will provide a written response within 5 business days.
Escalate to Management
If the issue is not resolved at the staff level, you may escalate your concern to house management. Management will review the matter and respond.
Management will provide a written response within 10 business days.
File a Formal Grievance
If you remain dissatisfied, you may file a formal written grievance. Grievance forms are available from staff. Your grievance will be reviewed by organizational leadership.
A formal response will be provided within 15 business days.
External Reporting Options
You have the right to file complaints with external agencies at any time. Below are resources for reporting concerns outside of Buckeye Recovery Housing.
Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH)
File a complaint about an ORH-certified home directly with Ohio Recovery Housing.
Disability Rights Ohio
Advocacy and legal services for individuals with disabilities, including those related to mental health and addiction.
Ohio Civil Rights Commission
For complaints related to discrimination based on protected class status.
